About the Show

What Is The Asset Protection Show?

The Asset Protection Show is where attorney John Skabelund breaks down how the wealthy legally protect what they own - asset protection trusts, charging-order LLCs, exemptions, privacy structures, and the case studies where protection failed. Episodes release every other week in video on YouTube and in audio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

It is built for the people the firm serves every day: real estate investors, business owners, executives, and professionals in medicine, law, sports, and technology. Guest episodes bring in the tax and finance side from CPAs, strategists, and advisors - because a protection plan works best when your whole team is rowing together. Most clients arrive referred by their financial advisor, agent, or CPA, and the firm coordinates with that team when a plan gets built.

The show is education, not legal advice - when an episode hits close to home, the next step is a conversation about your own structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is The Asset Protection Show about?

How the wealthy legally protect what they own - asset protection trusts, charging-order LLCs, exemptions, privacy structures, digital assets, and the case studies where protection failed. Host John Skabelund translates courtroom experience into plain-English strategy, with expert guests on tax and finance.

Where can I watch or listen to the show?

Full video episodes on YouTube, and audio on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and Amazon Music.

Who hosts The Asset Protection Show?

John Skabelund, J.D., M.B.A. - founding attorney of Skabelund PLLC, a former trust and entity litigator with more than a decade at one of Arizona's largest firms, rated AV Preeminent and Avvo 10.0, and in the top 1 percent of America's Most Honored Lawyers for 2026. How often do new episodes come out?

Every other week, in video and audio simultaneously. Subscribing on YouTube or following on any podcast platform delivers each new episode automatically on release day.

Do I need to bring my financial advisor or CPA into this?

Ideally, yes - that is how it works best. Most clients arrive referred by their financial advisor, agent, or CPA, and the firm coordinates with that team when a plan gets built. The show's guest episodes exist for the same reason: legal structure, tax strategy, and financial planning are strongest when they are designed together.

Can I suggest a topic or ask a question for the show?

Yes - send it through the contact page. Listener situations, anonymized, make some of the best episodes; and if your question is really about your own wealth, that is what a consultation is for.

Is the show legal advice?

No - it is education. Every situation turns on its own facts and state law, so nothing in an episode creates an attorney-client relationship or substitutes for counsel. When an episode sounds like your life, the next step is a conversation about your specific structure.
